John Mayer Tour Dates are Official

John Mayer Tour Dates have officially been posted on the John Mayer web site and he is not skimping. Mayer has a few dates in the US before the end of the year, including a new year's eve engagement at the Joint in Las Vegas. But the main stretch of dates will begin February 8 in Charleston, SC and end in April in Chicago.

The John Mayer Fan Club recently dumped Music Today and will take on a new form. Presales through the fan club will be made available to anyone who purchases the latest album "Battle Studies" through the fan club site (not iTunes) by November 10. All qualifying buyers will recieve a unique password that can only be used by the person who received for up to four tickets to up to three concerts. After November 11, it is not possible to access the presales. We expect there will be more free presales with non-unique passwords to announce shortly after the album presales though, so stay tuned.

Roger Waters 2010-2011 Tour Rumors Abound

We are having touble confirming this, but apparently, Roger Waters will be touring from 2010-2011 and performing The Wall cover to cover. This site, according to our on-call Japanese translation specialist, has claimed that Roger Waters' manager alluded to a two year tour, for which 6 dates have already been decided. Though Waters has toured previously, that he may be covering The Wall will surely spark Pink Floyd reunion rumors. Stay tuned as we will post tour dates as soon as they are available.

Big Tour Plans for Tim McGraw in the Spring

Tim McGraw fans will get their first chance to hear his latest studio album "Southern Voice," live next spring when the road warrior starts a long string of tour dates. McGraw already has more than 50 arena dates planned and may announce more soon.

The tour commences Feb. 11 in Omaha, NE, running through Aug. 15 in Virginia Beach, VA, according to the tour dates that have been announced so far. There are a lot of off dates in betweeen so there may be more stops on the tour and Tim will likely play festivals as well.

Lady Antebellum will open all of the shows and The Lost Trailers will provide additional support from February through early April with Love and Theft replacing them from April 11 (Orange Beach, AL.) on.

Ticket Exchange Listings Added to PresaleToday

We have added ticket exchange listings to PresaleToday to make it easier for users to find links to the official ticket exchnages of the major sports teams. The listings can be accessed on the right hand side of the page.

So far, all NFL teams and their schedules have been listed. The NBA and NHL are coming soon. Listings will also appear in the main event list on game day, so you can get a preview of what is happening that night each morning. It's a great way to keep up with who is playing who as well as easily access the fan ticket exchanges.

In most cases the ticket exchange listings link to official secondary market partner for that team. For example, the Washington Redskins games will link directly to Stubhub, while the New York Jets listings will link directly to their official Ticketmaster ticket exchange.

Staggered Sale Times Make Phish Tour Easier

Whether it was intentional or not, we don't know, but the awkward staggering of sale times for Phish concerts on the upcoming east coast fall swing has made it easier for fans who want to travel from city to city with the band.

Tickets for the Syracuse show went on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, which is normal, but tickets for the Madison Square Garden shows go on sale at 11 a.m. EST. This sale start time is almost unheard of for MSG. Tickets for the Times Union Center in Albany go on sale at noon Friday and Cumberland County Civic Center (Portland, Me) tickets go on sale Saturday, not Friday. Putting tickets on sale at four different times allows fans to buy tickets for each of those shows and do a mini-tour with the band. It also means there will be more competition for folks hoping to score tickets online so don't be late for the sale times. In fact, be early.

Bon Jovi Amex Presales for Circle Tour

Amex presales for two of Bon Jovi's concerts on the newly announced Circle Tour have appeared in the PresaleToday ticket sale list this morning. Though it is not unheard of for a tour to only feature presales in the New York area, it is more likely that this is an indication that tickets for the entire tour will be available through Amex. Bon Jovi Announces World Tour Dates

Bon Jovi tour dates have been announced by the band. According to BonJovi.com, the Circle Tour starts this spring and will last for two years. This is good news for AEG, the tour's promoter, as the music industry faces increasingly difficult times.

The tour will begin in February in Seattle, WA and the first North American leg winds up July 30 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Among the stops on the tour will be the New Meadowlands Stadium (New Giants Stadium) in East Rutherfod on May 26 and 27. These are the first concerts announced for that venue.

Paid Fan Club presales start Monday October 26, 2009 and regular tickets will go on sale later in that week. Check back for presale passwords and information on free presales for the Bon Jovi concerts.

PresaleToday Site Optimizations Complete

As many of you noticed, we have had some performance issues over the past couple of days. A combination of database performance and high traffic spikes happening right around sale times brought the site to a halt on several ocassions. I realize this is an inconvenience and apologize for any difficulties or lack of access you may have experienced.

By way of update we completed optimizations in our database and other areas today that we think has solved the problem. It is difficult to simulate traffic spikes, so we cannot say for sure that everything is fixed, but based on processing and page load speeds following the optimizations, we believe we have nipped this one in the bud. We will continue to monitor, but expect to be back to business as usual for the rest of the week.

Arctic Monkey Invasion - US Tour Dates

Alt-rockers the Arctic Monkeys had such a good time in the US this summer, they are coming back for more this fall. They announced six nights of shows in major US markets (and one in Montreal) to back their latest album "Humbug."

The Arctic Monkeys are in the UK next month and will follow up their US shows with dates throughout Europe. "Humbug" was released in August and is the band's third studio album.

Tour Dates Announced for Guns N' Roses

Exciting headine, but history tells us not to get too excited. Guns N Roses will head out on a slate of Canadian dates next year, following an Asian tour this winter.

The dates were announced as part of a larger world tour behind the Chinese Democracy opus that was released last year after 10 years of refining. The Canadian swing is a 13-city outing and kicks off Jan. 13 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The final announced date is Feb. 4 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Ticket sales are already underway. Ticket prices range from $49.50 to $89.50 Canadian.

Current G-n-R members include Axl Rose, Dizzy Reed, Tommy Stinson, Chris Pitman, Richard Fortus, Ron Thal, Frank Ferrer and, the newest addition, DJ Ashba, who will replace Robin Finck on lead guitar.

2010 ACL Tickets On Sale for Early Birds

Tickets for the Austin City Limits Festival are now on sale throuh the official ACL Festival at a discounted rate. You can purchase 2010 3-day passes for $145, which is $40 lower than the regular price for folks who haven't decided if they are going to go or not yet.

Phish Fall Tour Ticket Pre-Order Open

As many of you have probably heard by now, Phish is going back out on tour this fall, hitting select easty coast cities after the Festival 8 engagement in the desert. The fan club presale ticket order period is now open on Phish.com and will end Friday.

The tour itself will start November 18th in Detroit, MI and end December 5th in Charlottesville, VA. The will do two nights each in Philadelphia, Cincinnati and Albany and three nights at Madison Square Garden. Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning Friday, October 23rd, with additional dates going on sale Saturday, October 24th. Check out the full slate of tour dates below.

John Mayer Camp Busy, Nixes Local 83 Fan Club

There is action in the John Mayer bullpen. Mayer has announced that he is finishing up a studio project and that the Local 83 Fan Club is dead and will be replaced by a new "Platform".

Mayer has two tour dates lined up for the John Mayer Trio - a charity event at Copley Symphony Hall on 12/29 and a New Year's Eve show at the Joint Vegas. The announcement of the tour and a lot of talk on his web site about a new ticketing platform indicate a US tour coming soon as well.

In a recent website post on his blog, Mayer said, "we're moving on from Local-83. There won't be a fan club anymore, but that doesn't mean you won't get access to the same things you did before, and we're still going to totally rock a message board."

A later post expounded that "as John's fan base continues to grow we want to make sure that all of his fans have the opportunity to get great seats, while continuing to combat scalpers." This could mean a number of things. Read the posts yourself and tell us what you think? Is he moving to Ticketmaster style VIP seating? Using a third party vendor? Creating a new system altogether?

Dave and Tim Acoustic Show is Back

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will play three acoustic nights at the Theatre for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV from December 10 through the 12th, Dave announced today.

According to the Warehouse:

Lady Gaga and Kanye West Tour Cancelled

Fame Kills and apparently so does making an ass of yourself at the VMAs. Without citing a reason, Live Nation told AP yesterday that the Kanye West and Lady Gaga "Fame Kills" tour is over before it begins. Some tickets for the shows had already gone on sale, but no more will. Refunds for those that have already purchased tickets, will be made through Live Nation, according to the AP report.

It appears Live Nation, the tour's promoter, may have been the one's pushing for it to go on as they announced tour dates and put tickets on sale even after Kanye told Jay Leno that he needed to take time off to properly grieve for his mother. In the Jay Leno interview he expressed remorse and apologized that the pain caused by his mother's death had caused pain for someone else and that he did not want to be one of those stars that never takes time off.
